Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about digital QR menus, plans, stores, orders, and account features — based on how WebQRMenu actually works.

WebQR Menu

What is WebQR Menu?

WebQR Menu is a digital menu for restaurants, cafés, bars, and hotels: guests scan a QR code and open the menu in their phone browser — catalogs, categories, dishes, prices, photos, and descriptions.

Create a store — a content set and a dynamic Menu QR appear with it in the dashboard. Then fill dishes, tables, and orders without reprinting the code. Learn more on the WebQR Menu page.

How do I create a QR menu?

You need a WebQRMenu account with a verified email. Then:

  1. Create a store during first setup or in the dashboard — name and opening hours are required.
  2. The system immediately creates a content set, a starter menu, and a Menu QR — you don’t assemble and link them separately.
  3. Fill in categories and dishes as needed, and adjust the page layout and QR look if you want.
  4. Download the QR from My QR menus or the store card and place it in the store.

Step by step with screenshots: how to create a QR menu. You can start with registration; terms are on the pricing page.

Do guests need to install an app?

No. Guests scan the QR with the phone’s built-in camera and open the menu in the browser. No guest app is required.

The WebQR Menu mobile app for owners and staff (order pushes and floor work) is still in development — for now, orders are handled in the web dashboard.

Can I update the menu without reprinting the QR?

Yes. A menu QR is a dynamic code: prices, photos, descriptions, unavailable items, and promos are edited in the dashboard. The printed QR stays the same — guests see the latest version on the next open.

Which languages can the menu use?

Currently Russian, English, and Georgian (ru / en / ka). You can set a primary language and up to two extras. Guests switch language on the menu page; dish translations are managed in the content library.

How do table QR codes work?

In a content set you add tables and download a separate QR for each. After a scan, the guest is tied to that table: the order goes to the floor with the table number. Waiter call works if enabled for that table; bill request is available from the table QR.

The main store QR opens the menu without a table — guests can choose delivery or pickup. Guests do not type a table number. The table limit applies per content set; current numbers are on the pricing page.

Can guests place online orders from the menu?

Yes. Guests add dishes to a cart and submit an order when order intake is enabled in the store settings. Submitting requires guest sign-in: email with a code, a password, or Google/Facebook — no app install.

From a table QR, the order goes to the floor with the table number; from the main QR, guests can choose delivery or pickup. At the table — waiter call (if enabled for that table) and bill request.

A new order appears at once in the web dashboard (Menu orders). Mobile pushes will arrive once the WebQR Menu app is published.

What analytics does QR menu include?

We track scans and opens of the menu QR: geography, devices, browsers, and time periods — like other dynamic QR codes.

With tables set up, analytics can show activity per table. There is no separate tracking of views for each dish inside the menu page.

What can I configure in content and design?

In the content library:

  • several catalogs (Main, Bar) with categories and items
  • dish cards: photo, price, weight, portion, ingredients, allergens, spiciness, dietary tags, “Hit” and “NEW” badges
  • one content set links to one Menu QR; a store can have up to two sets, and another store gets its own

On the guest page — Wi‑Fi (multiple networks, copy password), opening hours, contacts, social links, cover, logo, and surveys.

In design — ready layout templates and color palettes. The “Powered by WebQR Menu” mark is not shown on menu pages.

What are the QR menu limits by plan?

Your account has limits on menu QRs, stores, content sets, tables and staff per set, plus categories, items, and monthly orders (order cap on Starter).

Cart, waiter call, dashboard orders, guest history, and GPS protection are available with Menu QR access, including on Starter. Current numbers: pricing.

Is there order history and guest registration?

Yes. The QR menu has smart order history: live statuses and a one-tap repeat of a past order. On this phone, history is available right away.

To keep it across devices, the guest signs in by email (inbox code or password) or via Google/Facebook — no app install. They can add a name and phone in the profile, or delete the account.

What else does the guest see on the menu page?

Besides dishes — Wi‑Fi (copy the password; multiple networks supported), opening hours, contacts, social links, cover and store logo, plus surveys.

Cart and orders are available; at the table — waiter call and bill request; from the main QR — delivery or pickup. The order appears in the web dashboard at once. Mobile pushes come when the WebQR Menu app is in the stores.

Can the menu open on my own domain?

Yes. After DNS (CNAME) verification, dynamic QR pages — including QR menus — open on your domain, for example menu.yourbrand.com.

Custom domains are available on Business and Enterprise plans. Details are on the pricing page.

How does GPS order protection work?

In the store profile you can enable GPS order protection: a map point and a radius from 30 to 2000 m (default 150 m). Before sending an order or a service request (waiter / bill), the guest confirms geolocation; the server checks they are nearby. Outside the zone, the request is rejected.

That blocks orders from the street or another neighborhood. You can turn the feature off with one toggle when location checks aren’t needed.

Plans and Pricing

How do Menu QR, restaurants, and table limits work?

WebQR Menu limits depend on your plan and grow with the tier:

  • Starter — 1 store, 2 content sets, 10 tables, 3 waiters; up to 200 orders/mo; cart, call waiter, table QRs, dashboard orders
  • Premium — 3 stores, 6 content sets, 15 tables, 10 waiters; unlimited orders
  • Business — 8 stores, 16 content sets, 40 tables, 20 waiters; unlimited orders; custom domains
  • Enterprise — 15 stores, 30 content sets, 100 tables, 50 waiters; unlimited orders

Workspaces: Premium — 1 and up to 5 members, Business — up to 10 and 25 members, Enterprise — up to 50 and 50 members. Starter cannot create workspaces. Stores and content sets organize the menu; tables power table QRs and dashboard orders. Each store gets 2 content sets. If you hit a limit, remove unused items or upgrade.

How does the payment system work?

Monthly and yearly subscriptions are available (yearly — pay for 10 months, 2 months free).

Payment: bank cards (Visa, Mastercard) via Paddle.

Security: payment data is processed by Paddle; we do not store your card data on our server.

Currency and security

Subscription prices are in USD. Card payments for plans go through Paddle — we do not store card data on our servers.

How does renewal work?

The subscription renews automatically at the end of the paid period (month or year). You can cancel auto-renewal at any time — the current paid period remains active until the end date.

What happens when switching between periods (month ⇄ year)?
  • Yearly → monthly: nothing is charged now. Access remains until the end of the paid year. First monthly payment — when that year ends. After that, the subscription renews monthly.
  • Monthly → yearly: full year payment is charged immediately; remaining days of the current month are preserved. The subscription switches to yearly, next payment — in one year.
What happens when switching between plan tiers?
  • Upgrade (e.g. Premium → Business): a discount applies for unused days on the current subscription; the plan card shows the final amount.
  • Downgrade (e.g. Business → Premium): the new plan is paid in full, with no discount for remaining days. The current subscription is cancelled; the new one starts after payment.
  • The printed QR code itself does not change, but the menu is available only while its store and content set are active. Stores and content sets above the new plan limits may be deactivated; inactive items are permanently deleted 30 days after deactivation unless restored.
How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancel in the dashboard under Subscription at any time, without penalties:

  • Access retained — until the end of the paid period
  • Auto-renewal — turns off when you cancel
  • No refund for unused time; you can renew at any time.

After the paid period ends, the account returns to Starter. Starter includes 1 Menu QR, 1 store, 2 content sets, 10 tables, 3 waiters, and up to 200 orders per month. New menu resources are limited by these quotas. Stores and content sets above the new limits are deactivated and permanently deleted 30 days later unless restored.

Features and tools

What are workspaces?

Workspaces let restaurant teams collaborate on stores, menus, tables, and orders. Workspace and member counts depend on the plan: Premium — 1 workspace and up to 5 members, Business — up to 10 workspaces and 25 members each, Enterprise — up to 50 workspaces and 50 members each. Starter cannot create workspaces.

Features:

  • A shared space for your restaurant team
  • Roles: owner, admin, editor, operator
  • Shared management of menus, tables, and orders
  • Combined analytics for menu scans and orders

Menu resources inside a workspace still follow the plan's separate limits for Menu QRs, stores, content sets, tables, waiters, and orders.

Can I use a custom domain for guest menu pages?

Yes on Business (up to 5 verified hostnames) and Enterprise (up to 50). Starter and Premium do not include custom domains.

After you add a domain in the dashboard and verify DNS (CNAME), guest menu pages can be served on your hostname (for example menu.yourbrand.com).

How do I download a created QR code?

You can download QR menus for print as PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF, and EPS — depending on your plan. You can also print from the browser (A4).

Higher plans unlock vector formats and larger sizes: Starter includes raster formats up to 1024×1024; paid plans include SVG/PDF/EPS and resolutions up to 4096×4096.

Is there a “Powered by WebQR Menu” label?

WebQRMenu does not place third-party ads on guest menu pages or in the dashboard. Menu pages do not show the “Powered by WebQR Menu” label on Business and Enterprise. On some system pages (pause, password gate, etc.) the label may appear on Starter.

Account and support

Why do I need to verify my email?

For security, there is no access to the cabinet until your email is confirmed. Immediately after registration you only get the verification flow — stores, menus, tables, and orders stay unavailable until you confirm your address.

Confirm via the link in the email or the six-digit code on the verification page. After confirmation, the full cabinet opens and your limits follow your plan.

Is WebQRMenu safe to use?

WebQRMenu provides a high level of security and data protection:

  • Encryption — all traffic uses secure HTTPS
  • Data storage — menus, dish photos, and settings are stored securely
  • Access control — stores and menus are only available after you sign in

Recommendation: do not put confidential data (passwords, PINs, full card numbers) in menus.

Forgot account password

Recovering access to your WebQRMenu account:

  • Use the recovery form — on the login page
  • Check email — the message may be in spam
  • Verify email address — ensure it's correct
  • Wait 5–10 minutes — emails may be delayed

If the email doesn't arrive:

  • Add [email protected] to your contacts
  • Check Spam and Promotions folders
  • Contact support with your email address
